The Art Of “New Beginnings” For The Coming Year
Maui sculptress readies special artwork for holiday season

Bronze, 8.5″ x 6.5″ x 2.5″, Edition of 150
WAILUKU, MAUI, HI – October 22, 2010 – “An acorn has always been known as a symbol of life and what is more symbolic than a new born baby?” says Maui sculptress Christine Turnbull. To honor the changing of the seasons and the symbols of life, Christine created a unique sculpture called “New Beginnings.” The small-scale bronze limited edition of 150 combines these two elements…babies and nature in an oak leaf cradling a newborn infant.
Christine observed, “The inspiration for my work comes from nature and from children, I often design around a leaf, a butterfly, or another of “Mother Nature’s” offerings. My goal is to give art lovers an unusual piece to remind them of peace, love and new beginnings for the coming year. “New Beginnings” will be ready for the winter holidays and is available from Turnbull Studios and Sculpture Garden. The “New Beginnings” sculpture can be seen on Christine’s artist page.
Christine is one of the Turnbull family of internationally recognized master sculptors with studios, a sculpture garden and gallery on Kahekili Highway that are open to the public. Christine apprenticed in stone and woodcarving, but was brought back to her desire to work with clay and studied under renowned artist and realist sculptor, Anna Good.
